Reminders for those attending NCYC:
Things to donate in the Service area:
As you enter Camp Tekakwitha, you will see the main camp pavilion and tower that welcomes participants. A wide open entry area will welcome all into the park pavilion. The areas on the main square will help add to the camp art and environment with NFCYM being the “Camp Office,” the merchandise trailer serving as the “Camp Store,” the bishops’ area as a “Camp Site,” and plenty of arts and crafts and low ropes course activities off the main section plus a storytelling area for vocations. There will be various colored “trails” that will help lead attendees to other areas of the park (similar to the railroad lines used in 2013). These trails will help pilgrims get to the Chapel, the Archery Course, Games, High Ropes, Coffee House, and Service areas. They will also lead them to the exhibitors, our national partners, the Marketplace, and interactive venues. Find out more this fall at: http://www.ncyc.info/program/park.htm Are you in Pinterest?
Then visit the Diocese of Youngstown's NCYC Board. Look for pins to be added as we move towards the Indianapolis Pilgrimage! Send me your related pins to have added to the board! NCYC Basics:

NCYC Youth Ambassador Program
The Youth Ambassador program allows for more participation in NCYC by young people from across the country. Each delegation is enocuraged to submit multiple Ambassador Teams (four youth and one adult liaison) to represent the youth of their diocese. These youth leaders will provide a welcoming presence and assist with specific tasks at NCYC. Delegations are asked to designate an Adult Liaison to work with chosen ambassadors prior to their arrival in Indianapolis and to help coordinate their participation on site. Each Ambassador Team consists of one adult and four young people. There is no limit to the number of teams a diocese may submit. One Adult Liaison is required for every four Youth Ambassadors.
Tasks:
Pre-Conference: Participate in online training
During:
Participate in a sixty-minute orientation meeting at NCYC.
Youth Ambassadors will assist primarily at workshops and mega-worskshops by:
Leading prayer
Introducing speakers and performers and assisting as needed
Greeting participants at the doors
Facilitate flow of traffic
Provide support to presenter
Participating in all assignments given
After: Participate in online evaluation.
Eligibility:
The Youth Ambassador program is open to young people who meet the following requirements:
In high school in the fall 2015
Active in youth ministry
Comfortable and confident in leading prayer
An enthusiastic faith witness
Exhibits a welcoming presence

**** Talk with your Group Leader ASAP if you are interested! By September 18,
your group leader must send to the diocese a letter of recommendation
and a video of you reading a prayer out loud ****
If a video is now possible in this timeframe, then the teen may audition by phone/voicemail.
The Diocese of Youngstown has had great Youth Ambassadors in the past, and we hope to continue to the tradition!
Please do keep in mind though that if you apply and are selected, you will be assigned to a mega-session or workshop (you do not get to select),
and you will have to arrive early and stay late to complete tasks for your assigned session.
Consider applying with others from your parish/school group or with neighboring parishes since you will be spending time together!
No outside transportation needs arranged as you will still take the bus to and from the hotel/convention center.
